Help LOPE raise $5000 by October 31st!
As the new fall semester approaches, we have several horses ready for enrollment in school — and they need your help to make their study program a big success!
The LOPE Academy
The LOPE Academy is a unique, in-depth racehorse education program for the LOPE horses and racing warriors. During the school session, the horses receive customized education to teach them the core fundamentals and job skills they need to succeed in their post-track careers.

This little mare is a remarkable athlete. Although she is petite, LP’s Tiger (barn name Elle) raced 141 times — and didn’t retire from the track until age 10! Elle has been in rehab for an ovarian disorder but she is responding well to treatment. She is currently doing ground work and being prepared for under saddle work again. Elle is a super intelligent, athletic mare with a ton of heart! If her retraining progresses as planned, she will be LOPE’s entry in the 2017 RRP TB Makeover. Read her story
Fiesty Day (barn name Friday) just retired this year from the track at age 11! He won nearly $220K in 58 races (all in Louisiana). Friday is a tall, elegant horse with a gentle temperament. He has been in rehab for a locking patella, but is progressing nicely with ground work exercises. We are looking forward to his retraining program, as he seems like a wonderful candidate for almost any discipline. Read his story
Flavor also just retired from the track this year at age 11. A true class horse, Flavor is a Claiborne homebred with a pedigree full of Thoroughbred royalty. He broke his maiden in 2009 with a win at Keeneland (with Garrett Gomez aboard). Flavor has a sensitive and kind personality — and a fantastic work ethic. After several months of well-deserved turnout, Flavor is ready to ride again. We think he would be a wonderful western trail/pleasure horse with time and retraining. Read his story
