10 yo @15.2H dark bay gelding. Poor Jon! He has had such a hard luck life. Jon first came to LOPE in 2014. He had been abandoned by his race owner at a boarding barn. Jon had such a sweet way about him! He was gentle and quiet — one of the easiest horses to ride that we’ve ever had at LOPE. He was adopted twice and returned — and he has developed some anxiety and training issues. Jon is now in an excellent education program with Robbie Canales (a horsewoman and trainer who LOPE knows well) — and he is making good progress! Jon went to a Peter Campbell clinic in Nov and was ridden by a professional horseman — it was exactly the experience he needed and we appreciated all the extra help that he was given at the clinic. Jon is available for adoption to a home experienced with foundation training and horsemanship principles. He is such a good horse — we love him at LOPE and hope that he finds the special home that he deserves.
